A book sent for credit at PBS must be marked mailed before the deadline, in order to earn credit from the system.
To Mark a Book (or multiple-book shipment) Mailed:
That's it!
Notes:
- Marking a book mailed will move the transaction into the category of Books I've Mailed
- You can view this category by clicking the tab "Books I've Mailed" on your My Account main page.
- You will NOT be able to mark a book mailed until you have accessed ( = viewed or downloaded) the address on the request.
- You need to access (= view or download) the address from the request in order for the "Book Has Been Mailed" button to be enabled, and clickable.
- To access the address, you need to click "Print wrapper" on the request and then view or download the address. You view or download the address any of the three following ways:
- Clicking "print wrapper now" at the bottom of the Wrapper Settings page to download the pdf file with the address
- Clicking "click here" at the bottom of the Wrapper Settings page to view the "backup wrapper" in a printable webpage
- Clicking the "hand-write" option to view the wrapper on a page from which you can hand-copy the address
Marking a book mailed before the deadline to do so is essential to prevent the transaction from being canceled.
- This is true even if you have mailed using Printable Postage - using Printable Postage does not change the need to mark the book "mailed" before the deadline.
- Your deadline to mark a book mailed appears in red on the transaction for the book on your My Account page
- The deadline will be 7 days after the acceptance date
- You will receive reminder emails from PaperBackSwap to help you avoid missing the deadline!
