Click on any listing for a book that is currently unavailable in the database.
read about how to find books in the PBS database here.
There is a limit of 200 items on each Wish List.
You can use the Wish Expander to show you all versions of a book any time you click on the +Wish button. If you have the Expander activated, clicking the +Wish button will show you all versions of that book and you can add any or all of them to your Wish List. You can activate the Wish Expander in the Options menu at the top of the Wish List.
Deleting an item from your Wish List:
Click to place a checkmark in the box to the left of each item to be deleted, then click at the top of the page.
Selecting Options for your Wish LIst:
Click the button: the menu that drops down offers (currently) two options:
The first box allows you to set auto-request (see below) as the default for all books you add to your Wish LIst from then on
The second box activates the Wish Expander so that every time you click +Wish on a book listing, the system will show you all versions of the book and you can choose to wish list any or all of them.
Sorting your Wish List:
Choose your Sort option from the dropdown menus to the right of "Sort by:" at the top of the page, and the re-sort will happen automatically.
You can sort by author (alphabetically by author's last name), title (alphabetically), date (date you added it to your Wish List, position (your position in the lines for the books) and estimate (our estimate of when you might be offered the book).
ASC = ascending (Ie, A to Z if it is an alphabetical sort). DESC = descending (ie, Z to A).
Note: sorting by author may cause items to "disappear" from the Wish List, since some books do not have authors listed in the database. For a complete list, view by title or Date.
Auto-request On/Off:
Auto-request means that the book will be requested by your account automatically if you have a credit
auto-request will make your wish active even if your account is on vacation hold
The default when you add a book to your Wish List is NOT to Auto-Request it
You can change this default by clicking Options at the top of the Wish List, and then checking the first box. You can remove that default by clicking the box to uncheck it again.
To apply Auto-Request to an item:
Click to place a checkmark in the box on the item(s) you want to set to auto-request and then click "Auto-Requet On" at the top of the page
To remove this, just check the box and click "Auto-request off".
When you have an item set to auto-request it will appear a faint green.
Hold/UnHold:
Hold (= an individual item hold, which is not the same as having your account on vacation) will "hide" your wish from the system so that you are not offered this book/it will not be auto-requested for you when it becomes available.
If you place an item on Hold on your Wish List, you will not lose your place in line. This is a good option to use if you have no credits and you don't want to be offered a book when you can't accept the offer - you can put the item on hold until you have credits.
To apply the Hold, Click to place a checkmark in each box next to an item to be deleted, then click the Hold button at the top of the page. To remove the Hold, click again to place a checkmark in each box next to an item to be unHeld, then click UnHold at the top of the page.
When an item is on Hold it will appear a faint red.
Putting an auto-requested item on Hold will hide the wish.
The Export options allow you to print the list or export a file (eg to excel) to your hard drive.
You can search your Wish List by entering a search term and clicking , at the top of the List.
