Friends of the Library Used Book Sale, with 100,000 items, is Oct. 10-13 at 8150 N. Lombard in St. Johns. The 10th is for members only, but the 11th and 12th are for everyone. On the 13th, everything is another 50 percent off.
Paperbackswap.com allows members to trade books by mail for the media mailing rate of $2.23 per book. The site claims 1,500 members and more than 25 million titles. So far, it's free.
