MADISON (WKOW) -- A donation of 1,000 books will give students at Lincoln Elementary in Madison direct access to books in their classrooms. Some students will even receive new books they can call their own.
The donation from PaperBackSwap.com (PBS) is thanks to a nomination made during graduate coursework by Lincoln teacher Jim Igielski.
"This donation was an incredible investment for our students at Lincoln School," said Lincoln Principal Deborah Hoffman.
PaperBackSwap.com is a free online book club. Members swap books for the cost of postage. In order to join in the swap, members must post books in "good condition" that they are willing to share. Credits are then earned by sending books out to other members. For more information about the online book club, click here.
Schools that are selected to participate in the site's Books for Schools Program are based on student needs. For more information about the program, click here.
