Don't Buy New Books, Trade Them With PaperBackSwap
The Daily Loaf- Florida (Newspaper) - 7/8/2010 by Lisa Custer
While reading a book on your iPad or Kindle may be more environmentally friendly, nothing replaces turning a page and reading a real book. PaperBack Swap is a website for book lovers to swap their books with other members basically for free. What’s green about this service is that you’re, in essence, reusing and recycling books because you’re trading them, thus not having to purchase brand new ones.
When you first register on the website you are asked to list 10 books you are willing to mail to a member. In return, you get 2 credits. One credit equals one book. When someone wants your book, you get an email from PaperBack Swap and instructions for printing your shipping label. You do pay for shipping when sending your book, but this means when you request a book you get it for free. Every time you ship a book you get a credit.
You can choose from over 4 million paperbacks, hard covers, audio books and text books.
There is also a Swap a CD and Swap a DVD site. Their terms are slightly different but both are still a great deal if you are willing to swap your stuff!
