I have not yet seen the book but Mr. Trotter was one of the handful of American Blacks who traveled to the Versailles Peace Conference to advocate for their cause. (Ho Chi Minh was there too.) The book is reviewed in an essay, Uncompromising by Casey Cep, in The New Yorker, p.75, 11/25/2019
