This is a bit of a different track for the author - Johanna Brady is sent to check out a body - which is surrounded by 17 other bodies in an over-heated trailer, in the desert sun. Since atrocities like this are in the news seemingly every day, it should be old hat by now, but it still upsets me, even if it is fiction. Brady follows leads to the killings that set her up in a precarious situation, and that situation comes into her town.
