First book in the series was very good--this one? not so great

It is overly long with too much dialogue that goes nowhere, too many 'filler' pages of just nothing that goes nowhere, and it actually is very predictable.

I didn't find any 'on the edge of your seat' suspense in it at all and it got slow and draggy in so many places I felt like I was trudging through quicksand.

I'll continue the series and see where it goes but it'll have to be better than this one
