Even though it's been awhile since I've read the last book (and a little longer since the original trilogy), I don't think the length of time (reading the last book) played into my rating. I was easily drawn back into the world, and it was nice to read about characters from the previous books that I had loved.
It took awhile for this one to get going. Once it did, it was a quicker read. I thought the plot was so-so (Surreal and Rainier getting caught/trapped in a haunted house- oops- I mean "spooky" house).
