Not my favorite Lora Leigh Elite Ops book. Dangerous Game is a better book by the same author. Wild Card is awful. Six years has gone by, but the heroine is still in mourning for her former SEAL husband who "died" in a mission. I found the heroine far too needy and whiny. She wants him. She doesn't want him. She doesn't want anyone. She wants this new guy. Ugh. I wanted to slap her face and tell her to make up her mind. I prefer women who aren't constantly shifting from hot to cold. She's also one of the most spineless heroines I've come across. She supposedly runs an auto repair shop, but has no control over who gets hired or fired. She also puts up with an incredible amount of male domination, lying, and manipulation without ever really doing anything about it. He has few redeeming qualities. He lies to her constantly and betrayed her in an incredible way by staying away from her for six years and making her think he was dead. When he comes back, he stalks her, lies to her, spies on her, yells at her, etc. Call me weird, but I didn't find any of that loving or romantic.
This book could have been about a 100 pages shorter for they have the same argument over and over.
