A Ladys Revenge
Tracey Devlyns soon to be released novel A Ladys Revenge, is a Napoleonic spy thriller. The Raven has been captured and her brother The Viscount Danforth and childhood friend Guy Trevelyan the Earl of Helsford; are sent to find the Raven. They just dont know that The Raven is... I think that this is the first thing that bothered me about the plot, rescuers not knowing what is what. The other thing that bugged me was the use of rat bastard, I just cant see people using such modernisms and the worst was the use of Fecking and Fecker really? This is just a reheated story and there was nothing new. The attack kitten was a little too cute and the characters and dialogue were a bit flat. 2 1/2 stars, as I realize this is a first novel and I did see some flashes of real talent. But I doubt I will be running to get the next book that is sure to come.
My thanks to Net Galley and the Publishers for the advance review copy.
