Aimed at American-Arab/Middle-Eastern dual nationality teens, this book shows the struggle of fitting in anywhere while taming hormones of the transition years all teens go through. It is a good young adult book.
However if you are beyond the 25 age mark and well into adulthood this book comes across as shallow whining of a high education institution dropout against freedoms she could have gotten had she got her degree and consequently a great paying job. She is at the same time rebelling against the only thing her parents can think of to secure her comfortable future: arranged marriage to a pre-selected man of her choice.
It all ends happily ever after, as expected so no surprise there. No great story telling either. Feels like being around badly Hormone hit, antisocial girl 24/7. Some readers might like it as light summer read. A specially the young adult. However it is not my cup of tea. Not a bad book, just mediocre one.
