This author's writing style was too clunky and slow for me; I couldn't engage with it. I found the present tense odd to read and stumbled over it several times. I had to give this one up after forty pages, before the plot actually began, which is far too long in my opinion for an author to write on and on and still not have the plot begin.

If you're blessed with patience and a windfall of time, maybe this book is for you.
