First off - was Coke a sponsored ad for this novel? I have never read about so much Coke consumption in my life.
Second - casual references to âoffing myselfâ as a joke? âMight to throw myself in a lakeâ Highly triggering to those affected by these circumstances (like myself) and unnecessary to the story.
Third - a murdered victim found âfloatingâ in the lake the same day it happened? Not possible. Any crime writer would know (or research) that a body would sink and does not float for a few days. I highly dislike impossible crime scene scenarios.
Fourth - Landscaping on every other page. Darby's business takes off immediately - magic! *sarcasm*
So much drama in one book (domestic abuse every other chapter - even with the secondary characters, extreme child abuse, murder, revenge on everyone and their mother, love stories left and right)- pick one theme and stick with it.
Super disappointed in Nora Roberts latest.
