This is a thoughtful book about Christianity. I thought I'd be bored, but the text is engaging. I was surprised to learn that Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism have saints (holy people). The text included some well-known saints and even mentioned Mother Teresa (someone kids may have heard of).
Another surprise was learning that the Pope has only issued two infallible sayings in almost 2000 years of history. I'm surprised by that statement. Most Catholics I know think everything the Pope says is infallible.
This quick book is informative, and the story is helped by many photos. At the end of each chapter, there is a quiz or activity to reinforce learning. The explanation of the differences in the different Protestant churches was excellent. I wish Captivating History would create a book on comparative religions (not necessarily for kids).
