I throughly enjoyed this book. Most of the main characters are dragons. Intelligent dragons. The story keeps you interested all the way through to the unexpected ending. This was the first Gunnarsson book I had read, but it won't be the last.
From the back cover: Deep in the darkest forests of Norway, the last of the dragons have survived...
But their great and magical race hangs on the brink of extinction. Kalavek, their leader, must find a way to revive the dragons' powers. He must journey to the underground city of gnomes. He must battle the monstrous beings known as Shadows...
But first--and most difficult of all --he must make friends with a human being.
