It gives you historical context into how Black women have formed their gender identity, and Black women's relationships with Black men, White men, and White women. hooks deals considerably also with the difficulties Black women encountered in the Black liberation movements, as well as the White dominated feminist movements. hooks addresses Black antifeminists, and also provides insights to White feminists.
Any White feminists who are wanting insight into Women of Color issues should read this book.
