The premise of this story is one of betrayal. A handfasted bride is to find the secrets of her groom in order to save her family from her uncle who also wants to kill her groom. Why, therefore, is she trying to befriend everyone and even attempt to fall in love with her groom? There is no mystery here. It is all very unsettling.
