Hmmm. I really wanted to like this series a lot. But it was just OK. There were two big problems for me.
1. The main character is not all that likeable. You can't identify with him.
2. It is just one action scene after another. Not much character development.
I am going to keep reading the rest of the books, but if I had the choice between this and another series, I will probably put this one on the back burner while I read something else.
I know that this is targeted to young teens, but what make fiction great in that genre is..the teens can identify with the hero. You never find out enough about Percy as a character to think "he is like me".
