Full disclosure: This is my first Meg Cabot novel - the Princess Diary series was long after my time. This is not the best place to begin reading the Cabot Canon. No Offense is like a cozy mystery and a Harlequin romance had a baby ... and gave it Mountain Dew!

The premise sounds great: Molly, a young single children's librarian in a quaint city in the Florida Keys, discovers a newborn baby in the library. Enter John, the divorced handsome sheriff who arrives to investigate the situation. Insta-lust explodes between Molly and John, quirky secondary characters are introduced, minor crimes are committed and solved, and the novel ends with a dance routine - seriously. And what is the meaning of the title?

If you're looking for an escape from reality for a few hours, consider this one. If you're interested in more substantial fare, walk on by.
