NOTE: Has spoilers.
I was sort of disenchanted with this series and hated this book at first try. Then I read "River Marked" (the book after this one) and remembered why I liked this series in the first place. So I went back and read Silver Borne again. I'm glad I did because I liked it quite a bit.
I'm not much into the Fae but I liked the storyline here. I also liked how Mercy was starting to make a role for herself in the pack. I'm so glad Samuel found someone and his role in the story was very intriguing.
There are only two things I disliked about this book. One, Briggs have a tendency to quote scripture which I find a bit annoying. I gather she is Christian and that's her way of giving props to her god. She used to be worse about, this dedicating huge paragraphs on good vs. evil and getting right with god. I'm so glad Briggs has tone that down. The second thing that kind of bugs me was that Mercy doesn't really take an active role in her relationship with Adam. In one of the books, Mercy never really choose Adam. I think Samuel made the choice for her. Here, she doesn't really have a choice but to move in with Adam because her place burns down. I guess it shows that Mercy goes with flow a lot, but I can see why Adam is so insecure about there relationship.
I would love to read a book about Samuel and Ari and more with Anna/Charles. I absolutely loved those books.
