This novel is for beginning readers of French. It is written entirely in the French language with a vocabulary of 200 commonly used French words. My students loved reading this chapter book written entirely in French because it made them feel very accomplished! The story is about a Belgian girl, Lise, who wants to become a singer. Her parents want her to become a pharmacist and work in the family business. On a family trip to France to visit her grandmama,Lise enters a singing contest.
