I have always been fascinated with near death experience stories (NDE), so I was just waiting to dig into this one. It had everything--NDE, written by a neurosurgeon, and not too long.
Well, for me, this book was too long and that includes the fact that a quarter of it was acknowledgments and appendices.
The underlying story was fascinating--the NDE itself, the illness that caused it to happen, the family stories. The rest was just boring. Perhaps the author was trying to convince his peer group that it was real. For me enough was enough.
In rating this one, I went up to 3 stars because the basic story was so good. Really, it was 2.5 stars for me.
