This is a very nice book for easy quilts to make. The patterns offered are pieced or appliqued. In addition, there are instructions for making straight-grain binding and continuous bias binding. The patterns are full size and the book has color images throughout. This book is great for a beginner because all the basics are covered. The workshop titles include: selecting fabrics, necessary notions, making templates, tracing templates on fabric, cutting machinge piecing, hand piecing, traditional hand applique, freezer paper hand applique and machine applique. They also cover measuring borders, quilting without marking, marking quilting designs quilting stencils, makina a quilt backing, layering and basting, hand quilting, machine quilting, and applying binding. The book is just the right size to take with you yet chuck full of all the information you need. Enjoy!
