This book goes back and forth between modern times and the Irish potato famine. Modern times follows a stay-at-home mom of a new baby trying to get used to her new life and dealing with postpartum depression. A bit overdone, but some humorous aspects. The part set in Ireland dealt with a mother trying to find a way to care for her children. If you read the Outside Boy, you will know that Cummins writing is well worth the read.
