I was really looking forward to this book but the author's effort of trying to make every sentence funny resulted in the hilarious parts losing a lot of their punch. Maybe if I'd read her first book it would have helped me believe the over-the-top characters (or caricatures) that she included as her family, co-workers and friends. I think I would prefer to read her as a columnist -- a little goes a long way.
