I enjoyed this one. The interesting and sometimes quirky characters really brought the story to life.
In a time when women belonged to men and had no rights of their own, a man who gave a woman credit where it was due and welcomed her presence as an equal by his side was a rare thing indeed. But this man's woman was generally expecting the worst and found herself confused at times by his generosity of spirit. Trust was the issue. Isn't it always?
