Jane Whitefield is a Native American who has a one-woman business of helping the desperate disappear. Using her Wolf Clan contacts and her own skills in covering trails and concealing identities, she has helped many escape their past. When her lastest client, an ex-cop accused of embezzelment, wants to disappear like another friend she helped, she doesn't suspect anything unusual until she walks into a well-planned trap.
