Nowhere near as good as Lorraine Heath's stories. This story started out pretty good and rapidly went downhill from there. A stranger showed up at her farm. Ellen had been alone for two years since her husband had taken off and left her. She was trying to keep things together for his return. Jess Flint had been an outlaw who had ridden with Ellen's husband in a notorious train robbing gang. Jess knew Ellen's husband had taken the gold and hidden it on his farm. Jess hadn't planned on falling for Ellen. They practically make love even though she's a married woman. Then Ellen's husband shows up with two other outlaws in tow and doesn't even bat an eye when Jess helps Ellen upstairs because she has a broken leg. Ellen sleeps in the hayloft with Jess and her husband doesn't care either! She ends up shooting and killing her own husband (and not even in self-defense) but because he is threatening to shoot Jess.
