A rousing tale of one of the most dangerous and important small unit actions of World War II. The assault on Point du Hoc got the publicity, but the taking of Pegasus Bridge got the results and saved the D-Day landings. A must read for anyone with an interest in World War II.
Trivia: In the movie The Longest Day, Richard Todd plays Major John Howard, the officer in command of the assault on Pegasus Bridge. During World War II, Richard Todd was actually a member of a unit that landed near the bridge in gliders and held it "until relieved."
