Set against the actual events of the great March 1941 blizzard in North Dakota, Phyllis Reynolds Narlor's "Blizzard's Wake" weaves a taut, gripping story about grief, dtermination and healing as the livers of the Sterling family and Zeke Dexter bind together.

The one great certainty in fifteen-year-old Kate Sterling's life is that she will never, ever, forgive Zeke Dexter for killing her mother. that is a given. As sure as the sun rises and the earth spins, she will not, should not, cannot forgive him for what he did. And wherever he is right noww -- lying on his bunk in his cell, sitting in the prison dining room -- she hopes he can feel the hate she's beaming .
