I havern't read many of Ian Rankin's books, yet. But, so far this is my favorite. I enjoy how his characters are developed so that the reader feels she knows them. The story was interesting and contaied some Scottish history within the plot. There were surprises along theway and I was wrong when I assumed who the bad guys were.
For those of you who enjoy British mysteries, try going north and read Ian Rankin. Well written and a story that keeps you wanting to read.
