I throughly enjoyed the second in this series. I loved loved that America finally made a choice between Maxon and Aspen ( and I like her choice, btw!). I enjoyed getting to see the girls and their families interact at the Palace. The Marlee & her Officer scenes were awful but really opened up a new depth to Maxon. This book in general brought Maxon as a character a whole lot deeper. We see much more of what he thinks, why he does what he does, and how he has been raised. Where the first book was focused on America, I feel this one was mainly focused on getting to know Maxon better.
