Love Inspired , Heartsong Presents, and other Christian novellas tend to be a sweet read but not normally a keeper..... this falls in that category.
Caros is an undefeated Roman Gladiator who after years of struggle finally won his freedom in the arena and used his wealth to open a Gladiatorial Training School. When perusing a slave caravan for new trainees he comes across a stunning and injured young woman and buys her.
Never needing a woman before, but feeling a desperate need to possess her, Caros finds himself battling wits with this sharp-tongue lady and battling his own heart to keep from falling madly in love with her.
Pelonia is a Christian during a time when Christians were rounded up and fed to the savage beasts at the Colosseum. She is also the daughter of a wealthy merchant.
Treachery and deceit find Pelonia a slave, sold to Caros, and desperate to regain her freedom.
With time and faith, Pelonia shows Caros the true way and together they set out to uncover her treacherous enemies, right the wrongs against her, and find God's will for their lives in a lovely little story!
