As a last resort, Darcie Finch goes to a brothel for employment. But the madam turns Darcie out, telling her to see employment from someone who owes her a favor...Dr. Damien Cole. This is a gothic romance loosely based on the Jack the Ripper murders. I thought there was a little too much description and we were in the heroine's head too much, but I guess that is typical of gothics. I would have preferred more dialogue. But the book was an easy read and did hold my interest. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
