Pozzessere's latest offering after Slow Burn (written under the pseudonym Shannon Drake) combines mystery, romance and an often touching look at the casualties of an era. The story begins 10 years after the inexplicable, violent death of Keith Duncan, drummer for Blue Heron, a popular rock group. The group disbanded shortly after the tragedy, and now, despite ominous phone calls warning its former leader, Jordan Treveryan, against reuniting the band, Jordan brings the group together for a one-night charity gig. Among the Blue Heron alums is his ex-wife, Kathryn. Although reluctant to return to the estate she and Jordan once called home, she bows to pressure from her daughters and a desire to see the old gang again. The mystery surrounding Keith's death intensifies, and Kathy and Jordan come to terms with the past while reflecting on Keith and the changes in all of their lives.
