This book was such a lovely surprise. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world, but little time is spent on how that came to be. Instead, the book focuses on a nameless girl struggling to survive. After learning survival skills from her father, through a bear she learns to listen to animals and trees, and live in harmony with nature.
The prose is spare and the book is not long. I wish it hadn't ended so quickly.
