More dukes. Feisty bluestocking heroine. Revenge plot. In any other regency author's hands, this would be a snoozefest because it's all so familiar. But Madeline Hunter has the gift of transcending cliches. I did enjoy this book for her writing style and because I know she knows her history, how to get titles right, all that stuff. I know I can trust her to tell a story which has both fluff and substance.

Advisory: The sex in this one is a bit more lurid than most. I did not find it offensive, merely unlikely. I say this for those who don't like explicit sexual scenes in their romances; they may find themselves skipping pages. Or not :)
