At first, this book was slow to get into, but the more you become familiar with the characters, the more you sink into the times during which it was written. About two people who love deeply, and barely survive the Depression of the thirties, they are hired to work at Oak Ridge in the highly secretive manufacturing plants. They never know what they are working on, and become devastated when they learn the truth. Powerful story, and rich characters. Loved it! I would read more by this author. D.
