25th in the Prey series. This is the book that started me re-reading the whole series in order ten months ago. I could not remember how Letty got into the picture; Sandford gives some backstory, but it bothered me that I had all these books and I couldn't figure out where she came from. It shouldn't have bugged me as these books are very formulaic, very fast reading, but rather forgettable. Anyway - Davenport's adopted daughter Letty befriends a "traveler" couple, and when the man disappears the woman calls Letty for help. It all leads to a group of murderers crossing the country, Davenport tracks them down, and they meet their end in a hail of gunfire in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It's still fast reading but this time repetitious within the book: the group gets into a place, they kill someone, the cops are on their tail but lose them...repeat about 4 times.
