Read this book after watching season 1 of HBO's True Blood and had to keep remembering that the series is based off the book, not the other way around.
I enjoyed the book. As in any first of the series book you get introduced to many different characters and you get a lot of back story and history, but it flowed well and never seemed like the author put something in just to fill space. I'm looking forward to reading the series to see how things develop with Sookie and those around her.
