I've been reading a bunch of Harlequin regencies lately, and this is my first by this author. It is well written (doesn't feel dumbed down or ignorant of the period), but the characters (bastard hero, noble heroine masquerading as governess) and plot events were pretty familiar -- on the other hand, there hasn't been a new regency plot since Georgette Heyer; it's what the author does with them that counts. I found this book improbable at times but the dialog is sprightly and I thought the book very readable. Advisory to those to whom it matters: There are extended and romanticized sex scenes, but nothing that grossed me out.
