This book is a conundrum. On the one hand, the writing, the story and the way it's told are absolutely amazing. The story is great and Stover's writing... wow. On the other hand, it's gruesome. Bloody. Creepy, disturbing and nasty all rolled into one. In fact, I'd hazard to say it's gratuitous at times and it's definitely crude. So.... read at your own risk. If that interests you, great. After all, like I said, the story and the writing are quite good. If not or if you're not sure... well, maybe read something else. There's a lot of great books out there...
