EXCELLENT book! Not only a fascinating story from the point of view of a minor character in Jane Eyre, there's a lot more about Berthe (the madwoman in the attic), Mrs. Fairfax and the other members of the household staff. Plus, it has a completely unexpected villain.
The tone and style of the entire thing sounds just like a story Charlotte Bronte would have written. Altogether a marvelous sequel/backstory for a novel I've loved for years.
