For the first time ever, I'm disappointed with a Stephen King book.
To me, this book was a lot different then anything else I read by King. Maybe because it was a novella rather then one of his normal 1,000 page tomes. There were two things that ruined this story for me. First was the lack of well defined characters. In most of his books you have 3-5 main and somewhere around 20-30 secondary characters. Normally, even his secondary characters have well defined backgrounds. That was not the case here. This story has only one real main character and a small handful of secondary ones. With this story, you were lucky if you got a paragraph or two letting you know anything about the characters. Almost none of the characters were likable in my opinion. The ones I did like were all secondary characters who were killed off.
The second thing that bothered me was the ending. It was a complete cop out.
