Never read this author before and it is not my usual interest being set in America. It was very religious with lots of prayer and scripture referencing throughout. Main character was a bit too "head in the clouds" for me though I liked her interactions with Isabella.

** spoiler alert ** Romance seemed rushed but tender in the end. What happened with Henry rubbed me the wrong way as well as the attempted rape scene with Jose. Really liked Gideon, Isabella, the supporting characters, but most of all liked James Bevin's character.
