I have been a fan of Christine Feehan's books for a long time. There are so many things I could say about this book, but I'll try to keep it short & to the point. I loved Burning Wild. LOVED it.
Jake is such an intense, dominating, possessive, protective hero. Some of the things he said and did almost crossed the line (for me). Almost. If you keep in mind the first chapter of the book and what his life was like up to age eighteen, you really can understand why he is the way he is, though. Add in the leopard traits that he has - there's no way he could be any different. Jake is the epitome of a tortured hero, but he knew from day one that he worshiped Emma. She was IT for him and he never wavered in that.
Emma is the perfect match for him. She is innocent and vulnerable, yet strong enough to match him and not take his crap. She is the only person to stand up to him and get away with it. She sees Jake for who he really is, she sees through all of his smokescreens to the man inside and is always there for him, always accepting of him.
I can't wait for the next book in this series. In my opinion, this book was far, far better than Wild Rain (although I admit I liked that one, too!). Excellent!
