Small town. Everyone knows everyone, plus their business. Meg had a high school love, Jimmy. He left to play football, and returns to Apple Grove periodically. Meg has not dated anyone else since Jimmy. I didn't like that this guy had so much power. Even when falling for Dan, Jimmy was still mentioned. This just didn't work for me. I was more annoyed.
I did like Meg's occupation (a handyman- handywoman!). The communication via the water tower was fun too.
