I am _such_ a Reynolds fan boy. He's one of the few authors I'll buy in hardcover, and this short story collection is no exception.

I liked it - it explores the early history (and the nature) of the Conjoiners and Clavain, as well as looking at bits of the Revelation Space setting that hadn't gotten as close an examination. "Galactic North" is the ultimate revenge tale, arcing relativstically through time to the death of the Milky way at the hands of rogue assemblers. "Nightingale" is a haunted house in space and deeply, deeply creepy. "Grafenwalder's Bestiary" takes us back to post melding plague Yellowstone and the Rust Belt, and re-introducing Dr. Trintignant, last seen in "Diamond Dogs." Somehow, I doubt we've seen the last of the good doctor in Reynolds works.

Highly recommended.
