*** SPOILER ALERT****

An okay book but it could've been better. The sex scenes were hot but the over-all story was a disappointment and there were many lose threads. I realize these are just modern day "penny-dreadfuls" and no one is expecting literature or much talent but I at least expect the story to actually have an ending.

The primary focus of the book is trying to prove Nicholas Argeneau innocent of a crime. Instead of breaking free and proving himself innocent the accused allows himself to be locked in a cell with his girlfriend. They wait two weeks without drama and are told at the end. You're innocent and Uncle Lucien is coming to tell us all about it. That's how it ends. The plot centered around proving this guy innocent, although, the protagonists did precious little investigating. Instead the story was dominated by a sub-plot where some random rogue with daddy issues keeps showing up to kidnap the girl. Everything was a little too easy and too convenient. Still, as I mentioned before, the book is not literature its a quick vacation from thinking. Really, its just the ending that ruined the book.
